BC TEMPORARY OUTDOOR JOB PROGRAM

This $5 million program will provide up to $8,000 in work for youth up to age 29.

CANADA STUDENT SERVICE GRANT

The Canadian government is launching the Canada Student Service Grant (CSSG) or the “I Want To Help” program, which will give students who choose to participate in national and community non-profit service projects $5000 towards their education in the fall. More details will be released soon.

BC YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

The BC Youth Employment Program provides students, either recently or currently in secondary or post-secondary schooling in British Columbia, with a four-month work placement opportunity with the Province of British Columbia.

GOVT OF CANADA YOUTH JOBS + INTERNSHIPS

Are you looking for a paid work experience in the non-profit sector? Check out the Government of Canada’s Youth Jobs and Internships database and information.

CANADA SUMMER JOBS

Thousands of new jobs for young Canadians aged 15 to 30 are available across the country right now from the Federal Government’s Canada Summer Jobs Program for Youth. New jobs are added regularly, so check back!

OTHER SUPPORT

BC HYDRO

Customers can defer bill payments or arrange for flexible payment plans with no penalty through the COVID-19 Customer Assistance Program. 

Customers experiencing hardship due to COVID-19 can access grants up to $600 through the Customer Crisis Fund.

ICBC

Customers on a monthly payment plan who are facing financial challenges due to COVID-19 may defer their payment for up to 90 days with no penalty.

FILING TAXES

The Government of Canada has announced that the tax filing deadline for individuals was June 1, 2020

The deadline to pay any balance due on your tax return has now been extended to September 1, 2020. You will not be assessed any penalties or interest before September 1.
