YOUTH SUPPORTING IMMUNO-COMPROMISED INDIVIDUALS

Here is information by the Government of Canada regarding caring for some at home during COVID-19.

 

FORMER YOUTH IN CARE

If you’ve been in foster care or had a Youth Agreement, you may qualify for the Agreements with a Young Adult (AYA) program to help you cover various costs. find more info here.

If you are 19-26, were in temporary or permanent care, were on a Youth Agreement as of your 19th birthday, or are eligible for AYA, you may be able to get a free phone and a free phone plan for 2 years through the Telus Mobility for Good program.

LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY RESOURCES

If you identify as a lgbtq+ refugee claimant, join rainbow refugee's online weekly dropins. email them at community@rainbowrefugee.ca for more info

Out On Campus SFU supports LGBTQ+ students and allies. You can access their community and services using this like during physical distancing.

Queer Mall has a list of free or fair-cost wellness resources led by and for womxn, queer folks, and people of colour. 

This text support service sends daily support to trans and non-binary people during COVID-19. 

SUPPORT FOR INDIGENOUS PEOPLE

The BC First Nations Leadership Council l has compiled COVID-19 related info for first nations people in BC, including financial and health supports and protocol for community gatherings.

If you are a migrant worker who requires legal advice - the migrant workers centre provides free legal advocacy services to migrant workers.
